I heard about this young ladies story on FB today and wanted to share. What a wonderful and touching testimony! She was a beautiful young woman inside and out and now she gets to be with God forever! It really makes you think about life. None of us know how long we have here on Earth or how long we have the ones we love. I want to leave love, compassion, forgiveness, wonderful memories, and fun behind. I want the ones that I love and the ones that love me to remember me always because of my love for God. Recently I lost two people in my life. One of them was a huge example in my husbands life. She was the reason he grew up in church. Everyday she talked about how GOOD God was. How GOOD He was, no matter what was going on in her life. She smiled this beautiful smile that was contagious to everyone around her. She loved God, she was selfless, forgiving, and an amazing example to our family, our kids. The other person I lost I loved very dearly, and by saying these things about her, I mean NO disrespect. She left this world with a handful of people that even knew. She left this world almost alone because she alienated herself. She was negative and she didn't show Gods love in her life, in her attitude. She was loved dearly and we had some wonderful memories of her that I will cherish forever. That being said, this has really got me thinking about my life. The example I want to lead and leave for my children. The love I want to daily show my husband. The forgiveness, grace, love, compassion, kindness, gentleness, selflessness... I want to show everyone I meet, as often as I can. God is love and God is in me, I want to look to His word, his loving word daily. I want to pray daily for Him to guide me and for Him to show me the path He wants for me, my family. God is good, even when our circumstances are not!
"My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.
FOR WHEN I AM WEAK, THEN I AM STONG.
2 Cor. 12:9
"Love is patient and kind, love does not envy or boast, it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own ways. It is not irritable or resentful. It does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
LOVE NEVER ENDS."
1 Cor. 13:4-8
"The Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control, against such things there is no law."
"And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up."
"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."
"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you."
"As it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
"Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant then yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the for of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death. Even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus, every knew should boy, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
"Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of god in Christ Jesus."
"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, REJOICE."
"In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through HIM who strengthens me."
"Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving."
"Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other, as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on LOVE, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the PEACE of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body, and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in work or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
